Mother Nature was once again on our side for the Fourth
Annual Wollaston Lake Horse shoe Tournament. On
the Sunday of the August long weekend, approximately 70
players of all ages and talent, gathered at the
Pickering’s cottage. A good time was had by all.
Ladies Champions were Anne Ireland and Colleen Ringham.
Men’s bragging rights go to Dave Ashwood and Bruce
Wilton.
A big thank you to all of the ladies that provided
salads which complimented a 70 lb. Hip of beef. We must
have worked up big appetites, as saw seconds and thirds
at the buffet table. All of the food was
soooooo delicious.
It was nice to see new people from the lake join us this
year. Welcome to Sid and Kathy Henderson, who have
moved on to Chescher Lane. It’s a great time to meet
new people and visit with neighbours. By Angie Pickering
A
BIG THANK YOU goes to Tedd and Angie Pickering
and their family and friends who were enticed to help
put on the big get together of WLHCA’s summer events. It
truly is the event to catch up with neighbours and meet
new friends on the lake. Tedd and Angie make a major
contribution to giving Wollaston Lake cottagers a great
opportunity to get together with each other. Thank you
also to Anne and Bob Ireland who put up the WLHCA
banner, a display board of information about
issues such as Water Quality and invited participants to
fill out entries for a draw of a huge basket of
environmentally sensitive cleaning materials. To check
if you have won come to the Annual Meeting at the Coe
Hill Legion on Sunday, August 26th at 11:00.
